Experience New York City

We have intentionally scheduled more 2006 Adventures in New York City because there is such a great need in New York for the message of Jesus (and it’s our hometown!).  You will have an opportunity to make the world different by visiting the “greatest city in the world” and communicating the truth of the Gospel through service and kindness.

“Start spreadin’ the news…” New York City is the largest city in the US with a metro-population of 21.75 million people, and it is also one of the most visited cities in the country, receiving about 39.4 million visitors a year.  No wonder they call this place the BIG Apple!  If you’re looking for entertainment, then look no further.  New York City is home to 36 Broadway and 125 off-Broadway theaters.  The city also boasts the world’s largest department store, Macy’s, which covers 2.1 million square feet of space and stocks over 500,000 different items.  Want to hear some impressive firsts?  Our first President, George Washington, was inaugurated in New York City.  Also, Babe Ruth hit the first homerun in Yankee Stadium in the first game ever played there.  For those of you who love useless facts, there are 6,274.6 miles of streets in New York, 578 miles of waterfront, and the Statue of Liberty's index finger is eight feet long. No matter what you're looking for, you can find it in the city that never sleeps!
